Welcome Back
It’s always an exciting time to welcome students, families and staff back for a new school year. I would like to say “WELCOME BACK!” It has been a busy summer as we prepare for the 2022-23 school year.
As always, there is a lot of work to do in the summer months. A huge thank you goes out to the custodial staff for doing a great job cleaning and preparing the building for another school year. The building looks great and we are ready!
This school year we will be welcoming 22 new employees to the Tomorrow River School District in the following areas: 1 administrator (pupil services director), 14 certified staff/teachers, 3 teacher assistants and 4 custodians.
Over the past few months, the School Board has been discussing the idea of sending out a school culture/climate survey. This idea originated from a few district residents addressing the Board at the June Board meeting and giving their input.
The administrative team, along with eight teachers, have begun the process of developing this school culture/climate survey. We are working with School Perceptions in the survey development. This survey will be sent to all district residents, open enrollment families, school employees and students in grades 7-12.
Watch for this survey to be mailed to you in mid to late October. You will be able to take this survey online or you may complete a paper copy and send it to School Perceptions. This survey is completely anonymous. Like any survey, participation is critical. Please help us assess our school district. We need to hear from you, your honest thoughts and concerns. I am a firm believer in continuous improvement and this is one way you can help us make improvements where needed. Again, please participate in this survey.
Our construction project is going well! Although you don’t see anything yet, there is a lot of prep work going on. The design phase is almost complete. We are tweaking the plans at this time and working out final details. Bid documents will be going out in December/January. You will see equipment here and construction beginning by the end of March.
Keep in mind that the entire school campus is in the middle of the construction zone. Starting in March, many changes will be taking place. This will include reduced and alternate parking, using different entrances and exits for the next two years, and revised parent pick up and drop off areas. More detailed information will be coming out as we get closer to March. Stay tuned!
Let's have a great 2022-23 school year!
