Today, March 11, 2025, all Amherst High School juniors will be taking the ACT test. To accommodate this, we need to have alternative scheduling for freshmen, sophomores, and seniors. Below is our plan for each grade level. Please read carefully so you are aware of the expectations for your child.
Freshmen & Sophomores:
Freshmen and sophomores will have a Virtual Instruction day. Expectations will be given to them during the previous school days for what they need to accomplish. Their expectations will also be posted in Google Classroom. Students will be required to check in to each class and complete all expectations. Students are expected to come back to school for any extra-curricular activity they may be part of after school.
Juniors:
Juniors will be taking the ACT test. This year the ACT will be completed on Chromebooks. It is imperative that all juniors have their Chromebooks charged and at school. Chromebooks should not be left in cars overnight.
Juniors need to eat a good breakfast, and please get a good night’s rest! The ACT will finish at approximately 12:00 p.m. Students will then be able to go to the cafeteria and eat a hot lunch. After lunch, students are dismissed for the day.
Seniors:
The seniors will be given a College and Career Planning day. This day is designated for seniors to take campus visits, work on scholarships, job shadow careers they may be interested in, etc. Seniors can reach out to Mr. Klieforth or Mrs. Swanson for any help setting up visits to colleges or an opportunity to explore career opportunities.
