Homecoming, Halloween, and Hands-on Learning
We are one month into the school year and it is great to have students back in our buildings. It has been another great start to the year, and a big thank you to our staff, students, and families for all of their efforts and support. October is a month of deep learning, celebrations, and a wide array of activities. The schools are bustling with excitement, not only for the annual Homecoming festivities, but also for fall celebration events and innovative hands-on learning experiences.
Homecoming brings a vibrant blend of tradition, community spirit, and pride to our schools. Homecoming week is full of activities and deep connection between our schools and the broader community. The festivities culminate with the Friday night football game, where the bleachers will be packed with proud families, students, alumni, and residents, all rallying behind our team, and the high school dance will follow on Saturday. This year’s Homecoming theme is Halloween. It is a great week to be a Falcon.
In the spirit of fall festivities, students and teachers will channel their creativity into a range of festive activities that bridge learning with fun. These activities not only highlight the fall season, but also serve as a testament to the innovative approaches Tomorrow River Schools employ to make learning engaging, memorable, and connect students to school. Follow us on our social media to see monthly updates on all of the classroom activities and fun.
We previously shared some of our school goals on creating authentic learning experiences, including public displays of learning. The hands-on learning approach is evident in the school’s various projects this October. Just this week in building walkthroughs, I got to see science experiments, new Tech Ed equipment being demonstrated, and Tomorrow River Community Charter students creating props for class presentations. Through these real-world applications, students are gaining life skills and creating lasting memories which extend beyond the classroom.
As we celebrate Homecoming, Halloween, and the spirit of innovative hands-on education, Tomorrow River Schools continues to shine in all of central Wisconsin as a beacon of community pride and connections. These events are more than just seasonal highlights—they represent the heart of our educational philosophy, where tradition meets creativity and where community collaboration enriches the learning experience. Here’s to a wonderful October filled with learning, collaboration, and creating lasting experiences for all!
