Celebrations, Demolition, and Planning

While it is the start of summer for students and families, it has been a busy month in our educational world. The start of summer is a time for both celebration and preparation. In our Tomorrow River community, this last month we saw significant work done on our K-12 building, including the demolition of the old Tech Ed/Agriculture building. The new Wolding Family STEAM center, a space dedicated to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics, is moving closer to being finished. This state-of-the-art facility will serve as a center of innovation and creativity, providing students and educators with amazing resources to explore and excel in these critical fields. The grand opening ceremony, tentatively scheduled for mid-August, will bring together community leaders, educators, students, and our families to celebrate this gift from the community. It will be a day of joy and anticipation, setting the stage for many years of learning and growing.

Beyond the STEAM addition, the current building project involves renovation of many of our middle school classrooms, our FACE classrooms, and our secondary library. These updates will also include a large middle school collaboration space. The renovated spaces will be a great improvement to our learning spaces, and will further add to collaborative and innovative learning opportunities for our students. As the construction projects move forward, we are equally focused on planning for academic and organizational improvements for the next school year. This involves curriculum updates, staff training, and planning our new digital wellness initiative. Digital wellness, in particular, has become a critical focus as we navigate an increasingly digital world. Our goal is to equip students with the skills and knowledge to use technology responsibly and to be safe, healthy, and balanced.

In the spirit of continuous improvement and bettering our educational outcomes, summer also serves as a time for reflection and strategic planning for the upcoming year. Our leadership team is reviewing academic data, extracurricular participation, and survey feedback to improve our practices. Additionally, as part of a grant our district received from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, we have a team that will be going to an Innovation Retreat to make plans for innovative problem solving and systems improvement. These conversations will form our building level goals for the next school year and be a great launching pad for our new Falcon Profile of a Learner.

As we head into the month of July, we are becoming increasingly excited for the new school year. We will continue to celebrate our success and make plans for next year to be an even better year. Thank you for the support and please reach out if you have any questions or feedback.
