Tomorrow River Monthly Newsletter with washed out falcon in background

Community Spirit–May 2024
Ryan Ruggles, District Administrator

Better Together (Thank you)

As we enter the month of May, it is a time for reflection, gratitude, and transitions. First and foremost, we extend our sincerest thanks to the community for your support in passing the operational referendum. The passed operational referendum ensures the continued excellence of our educational programs and services, providing a solid foundation for our students' success as well as much needed resources for our staff. There is an old adage that starts “it takes a village” and in our case it takes several villages and several towns! Thank you again to all of our Tomorrow River community.

With one more summer of construction ahead of us, the academic year will end a bit early again this year, with May 23 being our last day with students. Teachers and staff are diligently organizing end-of-year activities, finishing spring assessments, and making transition plans for the following school year. All this planning helps to ensure a smooth progression into the summer, and gets us ready for the 2024-2025 school year. Summer school registration is underway, and once again we have some great offerings and opportunities for our students. Our students are eagerly anticipating their well-deserved summer break, but also remain focused, connected, and busy.

Excitement continues to grow as we prepare for the opening of our new Herbert & Evelyn Wolding Family STEAM Center. While our staff will start to make the move into this addition at the end of the month, the “official” grand opening will be in the fall. This facility will not only expand our capacity for innovative learning, but also symbolizes the district’s dedication to providing cutting-edge education in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics, as well as the community's commitment and support to future ready practices. The opening of the STEAM Center, along with the roll out of our newly created graduate/learner profile, will make for an exciting summer and fall.

At the heart of our amazing Tomorrow River school community lies the unwavering support for our incredible students and staff. We recognize and celebrate their hard work, dedication, and achievements throughout the year, but as the academic year comes to a close, we once again want to highlight our students and staff, and thank them for all that they do. Whether it's academic success, artistic/musical endeavors, or success on the athletic fields, we take pride in the accomplishments of every individual within our school community.

Lastly, we once again want to emphasize the power of collaboration and partnerships in driving our district’s success and supporting our culture. None of our achievements this school year would be possible without the collaborative efforts of our educators, parents, and community members. Through strong partnerships and collaboration, we create an environment where all of our students can thrive and reach their fullest potential. As we finish the school year and look ahead to the summer and fall, we do so with a sense of gratitude, excitement, and anticipation.
Thank you for your support.
