Happy Pi Day!
If you’ve been to school any time within the last century and a half, chances are you’ve learned about pi.
Pi is the symbol used in mathematics to represent a constant—the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter—which is approximately 3.14159. Every year on March 14th, or 3/14, math lovers around the world celebrate Pi Day.
Pi has been calculated to over one trillion digits beyond its decimal point, but only a handful of the digits are needed for typical calculations. Pi’s infinite nature makes it one of the most popular mathematical concepts.
