TRASH ULTIMATE FRISBEE
Head Coach: Steve Swan
TRASH Ultimate Frisbee is the perfect sport for anyone who wants to have a lot of fun, compete at a high level, and have a relatively low time commitment. Every student is welcome to join at any time -- we are a mixed-gender team that strives to make everyone feel included by making practices fun, having team meals together, and keeping the atmosphere encouraging and light-hearted.

AHS TRASH Ultimate Frisbee 2019
Ultimate Frisbee is a physically demanding sport that requires endurance, agility, and hand-eye coordination. That's why we need snacks at practice! The main season occurs in the spring, but there are optional activities all year that we will try to participate in, as interest dictates. Practices start in March and run through the end of the school year. There will most likely be 1-2 practices per week after school or on weekends when necessary. Tournaments are available year-round, the Stevens Point community league games run in the summer and fall, and the State Championship tournament is at the end of May.
TRASH Ultimate partners with Special Olympics Wisconsin to raise funds via the Polar Plunge in February, and we will also do a cookie dough fundraiser to help offset costs of tournaments, jerseys, and equipment. Last year, we raised $2,500 for Special Olympics Wisconsin!
The team, including AHS Principal Mike Klieforth and Coach Steve Swan, took a plunge for a good cause in February 2020.
The Wisconsin youth ultimate movement is growing, but most of the high school teams are located in Madison. Our team is one of two currently in central Wisconsin, so we will have scrimmages against that team as often as we can! The goal is to keep growing the sport in central Wisconsin so we have more teams to play against so ultimately everyone can have more fun!
Anyone interested in more info or in joining the team should contact Mr. Swan.
